CONCRETE
Concrete is hard, very hard. It is false and hard. We live surrounded by concrete; we touch it, look at it, love and hate it. Concrete is attractive and ugly; it frightens and protects us at the same time. It is a sad material, but it also becomes the stage on which millions of people give colour to their dreams.
It is the canvas that shows our sadness and joy.
It is a wall to hide behind, a surface to walk on, a treasure for the family that finally builds their home after years of hard work.
Concrete is stained with blood and corruption. Its particles store thousands of stories. Concrete does not burn or wet; it is cold or hot. Houses, plazas, factories, swimming pools, bars, shops, offices, beds, bunkers, tracks, cinemas, ovens, streets, bridges, cities… Walls riddled with gun shots; walls that separate.
Concrete is a new and evolving element. It is part of our life. It is found all over the world.
Concrete aims to become a film made from various stories from all over the planet that use concrete as their starting point and portray the life of modern man.
One character appears in each story within the film. His name is Franz. Franz can play the leading role in the story or merely be an observer. Franz can be an adult, a boy, a young man, an old man, and even – why not? – a woman. Franz can be European, Asian, African, Indian... He holds all the nationalities in the world.
This film is a wish. This film looks for ideas. It is a window open onto the real world and a point of view.
Concrete wants to become an example of collective creativity, a tool to make people stand out. A film made with no need for large studios or production companies.
If you want to take part in this film, write to us here. We’ll tell you how to participate. |
