Terrarium
Annalisa Mair
Terrarium is a thought-provoking short movie that demonstrates the profound impact and the sense of isolation and seperatness that our human species has on the planet we call earth.
The short movie explores the growing divide between each other and the natural world, highlighting how our actions, driven by progress and consumption, have caused significant environmental deconstruction. Our human activities have destroyed ecosystems, disrupted species and left a mark on the symbiosis of all life forms. These natural habitats are surrounded by controlled man-made environments trying to survive. And we can feel the preassure of mother nature – like tension in the air before a thunderstorm – pressing on us, reminding us that we should rethink our position and start again taking care of what is around us and aligning with the planetary equilibrium.
Terrarium invites viewers to reflect on the consequences of our existence within this shared habitat and the urgent need for greater awareness and change.
A dialog between nature and culture.
